Lots of fallout from Congressman Ted Deutch decision not to seek re-election. Former state Rep. George Moraitis, R-Fort Lauderdale, is “definitely, strongly considering” running for the seat — as is the person who succeeded Moraitis in the House: state Rep. Chip LaMarca, R-Lighthouse Point. And if Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis, a Democrat, runs to succeed Deutch, George Moraitis' wife, Heather Moraitis, may run for Fort Lauderdale mayor.
